Foodporn : Menya Musashi ( revisit )
Hello!
So I was at ION Orchard the other day to get a replacement cable for my Shure earbuds (the wires were in bad shape).
We didn't really know what to eat so we went for Menya because the queues elsewhere were sooooo long D:
Anyways here's what we ordered!
1. Aburi Duck Ramen (Spicy base) $12.90
I didn't order this, my family member did haha. But it was mentioned that it's super good! I'm always stuck between the red base (spicy) and black base (garlic and sesame I think). But I went for the black base instead as I thought it was good to give it a try again.
2. (What I ordered): Pork Chashu Ramen (black base) (2 pieces of Chashu), $10.90
So this is what I ordered! It was really delicious :) I like Menya a lot because the ramen does look different, and you can choose between thick and thin noodles. I feel that both are super good, but the thing one could be better in the sense that it can absorb more flavour from the soup (surface area wise). Nonetheless, I think that Menya is definitely at a lower price point when you compare to other ramen shops (eg. The ones at Clarke Quay) which have an average price of $17 and above for just one bowl of ramen. And at a lower price point, I think I'm still able to enjoy it all the same. Oh well, I guess if you're a ramen-holic, you might disagree but for a normal person they don't taste very different :)

Okay so we did order one set and one a-la-carte
It is super nice and all, but definitely over fried this time. However, I do think it's understandable as the restaurant was quite packed that day so the chef could've been struggling to make food for everyone.
I do have the JFC Family Card which gives me 10% off. Our bill came to under $30 or so, which is quite alright for Japanese ramen here, especially if it comes with side dish and drinks :)
FYI, you can sign up for that card at all JFC outlets, and it does cost $15 but they will give you $20 vouchers at Menya if you apply so I do feel it's alright.
Till next time!
Love,
Khione
