Foodporn: Bar Bar Black Sheep

Hey guys!

I'm here today to share with y'all my food experience at Bar Bar.

There are some disappointments, but I'll get to that later. I've had food before at Bar Bar, and it was really good. As always, Bar Bar had the best food at their price point.

This time I ate at the Cluny Court branch.
The ambience of the place is really nice, you feel comfortable, it's definitely casual and has that edge to it where it feels like a cool place. It's also rather secluded so I guess it gives that "cosy" feel?

Here's a picture of the lunch set menu!
Okay so here comes food. Basically, they do not serve water (which is kinda weird) so you have to order from their drinks menu. Me and my mother ordered Iced Lemon Tea (which thank god it doesn't taste canned). It's $1.50 each :)
I ordered the western set, so I had an appetiser to choose from. I decided to go for the Caesar salad.
I'm actually really impressed by the taste of the food. The chicken was cooked just right, tender and definitely different from the overcooked chicken that I tasted when I dined at Hot Tomato. The vegetables were really fresh as well, no signs of rot or anything, and the sauce put on top was just enough so you didn't feel too sick from too much sauce or lack of flavour from too little. Overall, one of the best salads I've had.

My mother ordered the Pad Thai, from the Thai menu. Do note it comes with dessert so it will be featured later.
The Pad Thai is surprisingly good! It's super fragrant, and all of the ingredients just come together beautifully. It's easily one of the best Pad Thai I've tasted so far, even better than some Thailand restaurants. Although it would've been preferred if they had a larger portion for the price, I must remark that the way it's prepared definitely has a significant amount of effort that can be seen and tasted.

For my main, I ordered the Blue Cheese Burger. It comes with coleslaw, fries and the burger. (Also ketchup)

I truly enjoyed my burger. The meat was cooked perfectly, so it wasn't too hard nor too raw. The blue cheese melted on top of the meat was a perfect complement and just pulled the whole burger together. The buns were perfectly baked such that the inside of it had this nice crunch (but not too crunchy) and also that half soft kind of bite, which was extremely enjoyable. Overall, this portion was really nice and huge and filling. Lastly, the fries and coleslaw were equally great, fries were golden and crispy, coleslaw I didn't eat but my mother did say that it was well made.

Here's the dessert!
It's just a simple mango pudding. I don't really like mango, so I didn't have any of this. However, my mother did remark that it didn't taste super good, more of average.

Now here comes the part where it's kind of weird. We had originally wanted to dine at Cherry Avenue's branch, but it not only does it not open at 12 as stated on the website, when it did open at 1pm they'd only have one kind of food (Indian or Western I believe?) which was just kind of off putting because I think a lot of people do go to Bar Bar for different cuisines mixed together.

But yea, that's about it. I think if you go to Cluny or Holland, you'll be able to enjoy your food at 12 for sure.

That's all for this post! Thanks for reading  :) and till next time!

Love,
Khione
