Foodporn : Woorinara Korean food!

Yes, I eat here super often ;)

But just the other day we were celebrating someone's birthday so we decided to come here and celebrate! And of course there's some new foods we don't normally order so I thought I'd share it with you guys. As always, Woorinara is my absolute favourite when it comes to Korean food :)

Side dishes!
I think the side dishes are pretty normal, we have some kimchi, the egg omelette thing, sausages, radishes etc. These are all refillable, but we do tend to always refill just a few.

So here's a dish you won't see me normally showing you guys, which is the Kimchi And Beef Short Ribs stew!
It has enoki mushrooms, tofu, tons of beef short ribs, kimchi, vermicelli, and of course the amazing spicy soup.
Next up: Garlic Soy Chicken!
Korean fried chicken is definitely something that can stand on its own. Not only are the meats fried to perfection, crisp on the outside but well cooked on the inside, they always coat it with this super delicious sweet and spicy sauce - absolutely scrumptious.

We had 6 people that day, so there were a ton of bimbimbaps (hot stone mixed rice) ordered, but all of them are beef so I'll just show you mine.
Although I would say this dish is rather easy to replicate, with the beanstalk etc, the green vegetable you see there is something I'm completely unable to find in conventional supermarkets. It's called Gosari in Korean, otherwise known as fernbrake / bracken. Either way, I really have no idea how to find it so when I normally make Bimbimbap at home I just do beanstalk mushroom and carrots (also egg). The sauce can be found in supermarkets everywhere, so that's an easy one. But yea, bracken seems to be pretty impossible to find so its definitely one of the reasons we enjoy visiting Woorinara as they are one of the only Korean restaurants that have this savoury  vegetable in their foods.

Next up is a classic Kimchi pancake
Korean pancakes are different from the normal western ones which are kind of buttery and soft and sweet. Instead of that, we have this slightly crispy, spicy and more on the salty side. I would say this and the conventional "western" pancake are completely different directions, but between the both I do enjoy this more because pancakes normally don't work well with my gag reflexes, whilst the Korean ones seem perfectly fine for me.

Here's a closer look at the short ribs!

Also thought I'd do a short OOTD
My shoes I couldn't show in the picture sorry! But I was wearing my UNIF Gosh Boots so I'm sure you guys should know what they are :)

Jacket: Forever 21
Top: Forever 21, inner wear from Saboskirt
Shorts: Topshop
Bag: Furla

Thanks for reading! Still finishing up my October favourites so hang in there :)

Love,
Khione
