Another day out at Orchard , Balmain x H&M , and a couple of try-ons

Hey guys!

So I am really sorry for the relative inactivity, it's actually quite hard to make a blog post on my phone sometimes (I will most certainly talk about this issue some time soon), but also because I am still trying to go through my photos in Europe and see what I want to talk about! So please be patient :) Plus, I really want to enjoy and relax a little during the holidays as well as catch up on some TV and movies (which are SERIOUSLY bomb). My next post will probably be about food or an October Favourites~

But just the other day I had to bring my Macbook to Wheelock to get diagnosis as to what was going on with it. I have an early 2011 Macbook Pro, and so the battery seems to be a little busted. Apparently, it's in really bad shape which means that I will have to keep it on the charger super often otherwise it runs out of battery really really fast. Still, I decided not to fix it in the end just because it takes around $200-300 to fix, and that's on top of the diagnostic fee which is like $128.40. Since my Mac is rather heavy, I tend to not bring it out often anyway, which is why I decided not to fix it. But on to everything else!

Okay before the diagnostic centre opened, I walked into the Dr Martens shop at Wheelock and saw these amazing amazing shoes. I do believe they are probably one of those collaboration ones, but seriously the one that I truly am looking for are the Dr Martens Hell boots which were a limited run a while ago? I'm going to put out a Christmas wishlist soon or a shopping guide because I do genuinely find that to be extremely fun and interesting, so look forward to that (omg so many blog post ideas running through me now)
Now this pair I did see on Instagram!

They kind of look like Timberland boots though?

Next, after getting my computer scanned for the issues and what not, I went into H&M. The Balmain x H&M collection released 5 November, which is a few days ago, and I went on the 6th, which was the following day. What I saw was quite shocking?
Yea so these black and white tube tops are all thats left of the ENTIRE COLLECTION. Mens stuffs were fully sold out, and the women's items too except for these tube tops. I really do want to just talk about it here, but the reason why I didn't bother to get the collection was because I viewed it online. Firstly, most of the items are kind of either not very practical (like the crazy expensive sequin dresses) or just a tad bit too formal for me, like more of an office wear? Particularly the blouses that had the little beads on it and what not. The only thing I found alright price wise was the Balmain tees, but then again the quality turns out to be really bad because it's actually see through, and for $50 I think I like my shirts opaque. The earphones are really just selling the brand, I highly doubt it's anywhere near to my Shure ones in terms of sound quality, which is why I don't really like splurging on any "brand" earphones that don't exactly have the reputation of making earphones for quality but rather for the design. And then we have the beanie, which literally has one tiny little ribbon with the words Balmain x H&M (like seriously who the hell do you think is going to inspect your head and be like whoo you are wearing something designer)

So with all those reasons, I really didn't like this collection too much. In fact, the Alexander Wang one remains my favourite because I do think that it appeals to such a wider target audience since even the younger folks are able to afford it, able to wear it, and able to use it, whilst I simply didn't see the practicality with the Balmain collection, hence why I gave it a miss.

On to Topshop! I tried on this item which is one of their newest
Decided not to buy the sequin top in the end because it's like over $100 and also because sequins don't look really great when they drop off (which they tend to super easily). Also it gets scratchy :(

Then I went to Zara to try on some stuff! I'm really starting to like them a lot more because they are starting to release more affordable items that appeal to the younger crowd.

So this is the first one, just a simply black tee! I really really liked the cool warning symbol patch, but decided to give it a pass in the end as it was $25.90 and I have way too many black items in my wardrobe!
And this is the second item! It was a crop top so for modesty's sake I covered up a little. Really liked the long sleeve with the stripes, it's super cool for Fall/Winter 2015. I didn't end up buying it though, because I have like two or three striped items already and I really didn't need one more. Plus, long sleeves means I can't wear it too often.

Passing by Ngee Ann City when I saw this super cool Laduree Christmas Tree entirely made of macaroons! Have yet to try them though, they are quite expensive :(
And here's a mini foodporn! We actually walked to Killiney Road for lunch, and decided to try out this really really affordable Korean restaurant called Miss Korea By Supulae (I think)? I was quite happy because their lunch sets have these soups and stuffs for around $7-$8.50, and it comes with free flow of side dishes and rice.

The side dishes:
I only tried the Kimchi and the sesame sauce salad, which were pretty good! Although it does have a lot less side dishes compared to the average Korean restaurant which I normally dine at, I do think it is rather reasonable since their lunch sets are literally half the price or more compared to places such as Woorinara.

More pictures!

Ordered some fresh watermelon juice :)
So this was the first item to arrive, which was the Kimchi soup! It has vermicelli, some pork, kimchi (obviously) and I think some kind of tofu?
We didn't really like this soup though, because it was very sour. Like really, and it wasn't like the normal kind which was a mild sour and more of that salty flavour. So I think this is a miss ?

Next to arrive was the Soybean Paste soup which is non-spicy!
I didn't really get a chance to try it, but my family did say that this one was pretty good :)

And this is mine! I ordered the Seafood Tofu soup.
It actually tasted really good, and completely comparable to the tofu soups I am used to in other Korean restaurants. Overall, I would say that this was an amazing lunch, and I am most definitely going to come back! Definitely not ordering the Kimchi soup though :/

Next up, I went to claim this free Ez-Link card! I already redeemed the card before taking the screenshot (sorry) but yea I try these LINE giveaways every so often and sometimes I get lucky and win stuff (Perx EZ-Link points etc). On this occasion, I won a free LINE Ez-Link card. Since it was on the way to collecting a cake, I decided to go ahead and get it!
The place we had to go to was a more industrial and office kind of place at Tannery Lane. We even had to take the cargo lift! (which was quite scary because it has like freaking 2 doors and takes forever to open and close)
Here's the office!
I chose this design (note it has no value in it)
And here's the place I had to step into in order to collect!
Overall I would say this is actually a trip I would not go on because it is really really inconvenient. I do think that LINE and EZ-Link should try and make the collection place a little more convenient to get to? Particularly because I would not feel very safe coming alone to a place that is sort of like far off and unheard of, and also because you have to understand that this place is impossible to get to without walking a pretty long distance.

Andddd next up, it was actually one of my family member's birthday on 6 November, and we received a 40% off voucher for Cat and the Fiddle cheesecakes!

We went to the Foodlink to collect it, which is just a couple of minutes away from Tai Seng MRT. The collection process was much smoother in my opinion.

So here's what the place looks like:

Note that on the way up you have a much more pleasant and normal lift~
And here's our cake!

I really really like the box :)
The flavour we chose is called "Apple of my Eye" which is basically an apple crumble cheesecake :)
More pics of the actual cake at the back as we had to chill it for hours since it was completely frozen when we got it.

We went to JUMBO for dinner! Don't really have any pics though, sorry about that. But we do always order the same stuffs so yea....

Here's a picture of the cheesecake!

I would definitely give this a thumbs up rating, it's super super super good! However, without the 40% off, I do think that it is very overpriced considering it is a really really small cheesecake (not to mention it is quite short height wise). Whilst I would order this cheesecake in future if I do get a nice discount on it again, I simply don't think that the pricing is very fair. Then again, I'm not exactly a huge huge huge desserts fan (I can live without it) so yea :) But I do think it's worth giving a try at least once!

And that's how I spent my day out on 6 November, I do hope that you enjoy this post :) Also sorry if it's really long! Did a lot of stuff that's why, and plus I think it's quite fun to share about it.

Till next time~

Love,
Khione
