Foodporn : Tony's Dessert Asylum
Hey! I went over to the newly opened Tony's Dessert Asylum at Tradehub 21 the other day to check it out since it was feature online by a professional food blogger. Since the food seemed good I decided to go in and see if it was really as good as it looked.
Next up was the soup - a classic minestrone soup. Have to complain though, the garlic bread given is super bite-sized.
You can actually see some real veggies in there so that's great ;) and the soup tasted pretty damn good.
Next up comes the mains we ordered!
Just stepping into the store you can already see their desserts (cakes etc) which is obviously their specialty (considering their dessert menu seems to be just as huge as their main menu)
And let's jump right in to the food we ordered! We actually got one set and topped up additional to get this drink (believe it is a lychee / longan drink). I try not to drink such things often so I didn't try this.Next up was the soup - a classic minestrone soup. Have to complain though, the garlic bread given is super bite-sized.

I got the BLT pizza
Although I really love the crust, and the flavour is pretty good, I honestly don't think it's incredibly delicious, and tastes pretty ordinary. I wouldn't order this again.

My family members ordered a chicken
The chicken was pretty well cooked and the sauce was quite good too, so this would be a better option compared to the pizza.

Next up is the clam aglio olio (I think)
Some mix-ups did happen because the staff actually forgot to order our pasta and so it took so long for this to arrive. The flavour was pretty bland and the pasta sauce was quite watery so I would not recommend this.

This mud pie was actually the best part! The ice cream layers were thick and there was this really nice chocolate crust at the bottom with an Oreo on top and some chocolate sauce. The desserts here truly do seem to live up to their fame.
All in all, I think it's a place that's primarily for desserts and I would not recommend the mains because it's not very worth it. The desserts are actually pricier even compared to most cafes around Singapore, so probably a place for that occasional splurge. I don't see it as a place I would visit ever again to be honest because it doesn't come across to me as worth the hype and I think there are definitely better places to dine than here.
Hope you enjoyed this review and food post!
Love,
Khione
