Day out at Orchard - Zara, Topshop and more!

Hello again!

I''m so sorry for the lack of updates in general this week, school has started already for me and so it is difficult as the days can be tiring and I do have quite a bit of things to do.

Originally I was going to do another foodporn but I think I will save that for next time since I don't want there to be back to back food posts. I don't really have many photos for any fashion shots either unfortunately and I do like to save those outfits so I thought it would be nice to do a follow-me-around kind of post instead. Let's jump right in!

Alright so around 2 weeks ago, I posted about this Zara denim jacket which I almost bought at the start of the Zara sale, at $69.90. Thank god I didn't, because it went on sale for $49.90 just a few days later. The other white crochet top I bought was such a disappointment though, because it was on sale for $18.60 (I bought it when it was on sale for $35.90) so that was really awful (and because I had already washed it I couldn't just return it). So yea, word of advice to really take your chances when you buy your Zara items and try to wait before buying.
Anyways, I used the Zara app to track down the jacket I wanted. They had it in ION and Liat Towers. I wasn't sure whether I wanted a size XS or S, so and each outlet only had the jacket in one of the sizes.
I ended up getting the jacket in a size S because I liked the fit better (didn't have to bend me arms as much to get in). Just a word of advice, when I went to the ION Zara I actually had to ask the staff before they took the jacket in size XS out. I'm not really sure why, and it's definitely not because someone tried it on that morning they literally took it out of some storage space, so I would advise if you are looking for sizes try using their system / the ZARA app to check the size and then heading to the actual outlet (I believe the Zara app gets stock availability updates once a day or so?). My jacket ended up coming out the storage for some strange reason, and literally the price tag was still at $109.90 which means they didn't even put the jacket out in the first sale. Found that sort of strange :/

After buying the jacket, I went to Topshop to have a look around. I tried on the sports bra and this top here.
Really really loved the details! I'm sure you guys know but I am a huge lover of symbols so this top really stole my heart.
Unfortunately, I decided not to buy it as the material was really really thin and it cost $33.90 which is absolutely insane for the fabric and the way the top is printed. The ink used to print the crop top was kind of cheap (sorry for the way I'm phrasing this), and it is most definitely the type which will turn sticky and flake off after washing, which can happen very quickly too so I decided to give this a pass.

Just for reference I will slot in the sports bra top thing which I tried on:

It is called a crop top but honestly it fits more like a bra top if you will. It was $33.90, which is no doubt expensive considering how little detail the top has. Also the way the top is cut is super weird. It has this very square cut top which looks very awkward when you put it on your torso in my opinion, thus why it didn't work out for me.

Next, we went to the Ngee Ann City Zara to have a look.
I tried on these super gorgeous lace up heels. Didn't get them as they were too expensive and rather uncomfortable (the kind that really gives you the most painful of blisters).
Really did love these a lot though :(
We went ahead to get some lunch after Zara. Since it was a public holiday that day there were no student discounts etc so we decided to go to Fish and Co for lunch because it is relatively affordable for a restaurant.

We ordered a set and one main course (so there are 2 mains)

First came the iced lemon tea
 Pretty good portion.
Next up, the soup. It was some sort of seafood chowder.
Really liked the taste of the soup and how it had actual salmon chunks. Also it's very creamy which is great.

I ordered an under 500-calorie seafood pasta.
It actually tasted surprisingly good. The sauce could really be more thick and savoury though, but I thought it wasn't half bad for its price and the portion size was quite decent too.

Our second main was the mediterranean pizza
Didn't have any of it, but apparently it was quite good. In conclusion, Fish and Co is a pretty good lunch option I would say. Definitely worth more visits.

The last place we went to was Tangs to get something from RISIS. (no haul as the items are not for us haha)

Thought I would show you guys this freaking awesome chair that they have (and yes, you can sit on it). Initially I thought it was like some sort of display piece but apparently it's free to sit and relax in. Naturally I sat on it and it was amazing. The feeling is way too difficult to describe but it was just super great.
I mean come on, it's a spinning chair. Do you really complain about a lovely hanging swing chair that looks this dope? NO. NEVER.

Hope you guys loved this post! I'm really running out of outfits to post (photographer issues) so maybe I'll do a different kind of fashion post soon (perhaps one discussing whether certain items are worth purchasing?)

Nonetheless, have a wonderful day guys!  XOXO

Love,
Khione
